Experiment 01: Bleach
Experiment 01:
Soaking an old useless negative “not so useless anymore!” in Clorox for a few seconds until you start seeing the colors sort of fade away then immediately wash the film with running water to stop the bleaching/fading/dissolving/whateveryouwannacallit process .
First attempt
I got a little carried away watching the colors react to the chemicals 😛 it was so beautiful! As you can see here the negative was pretty damaged.
Here’s what the picture used to look like before, waste of film I know..
and this is what it looks like now, waaaaay much better and far more interesting than before!
Both of the pictures above were scanned in full color mode.
Second attempt
This time I’ve tried doing the same thing on a medium format film. I think it turned out better than the first time 🙂
It used to look so dull and boring but not anymore : P ! (note: picture was converted to B&W in PS)
Beyond belief !!!
The mug picture is beautiful … Add a big fat wow….
I should try it to believe it 😉
Thank you! I was pretty surprised at the result too, at first I thought the scanner messed the colors up 😛

LOL, nice attempts, it’s cute how you make the whole damaging process sound less detrimental to the pictures.
Thanks!
Next time I’m gonna try to melt them in the microwave 😛 and keep a fire extinguisher near just in case things get out of hand!
darling that is beautiful!
Thanks! Apparently Clorox isn’t just for cleaning anymore 😛
Fucking amazing!
I love this! and Clorox is rarely used for cleaning (if you know what I mean)
Hahaha thanks!
I’ll try the same trick with different chemicals. Hopefully I will get some decent results.
Once again, thanks for stopping by. 🙂
